Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk (warmed to 110°F / 43°C)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 23 medium bananas)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, and eggs. Combine with dry ingredients to form a dough.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let the Dough Rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.
  5. Roll Out the Dough: Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Assemble the Rolls: Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll tightly, seal the seam, and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Second Rise: Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
