These Apple Pie Crescent Rolls combine the flaky, buttery texture of crescent rolls with the warm, comforting flavors of spiced apple pie. Easy to make in under 30 minutes, this delightful treat features thinly sliced apples coated in cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, wrapped in crescent dough, then baked to golden perfection. Perfect for an indulgent breakfast, snack, or dessert.

Ingredients

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 tube crescent rolls (8 count)

Apple Mixture

  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced into 8 pieces (Granny Smith recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (vegan butter optional)

Spice and Sugar Mix

  • ¼ cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • pinch of allspice

Topping

  • Cane sugar (for sprinkling)
  • Dash of cinnamon (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Lay out each crescent roll on a clean, flat surface, ready for filling and rolling.
  2. Coat the Apple Slices: In a bowl, combine the melted butter with the thin apple slices, gently tossing to ensure each slice is well coated.
  3. Mix Sugar and Spices: In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Then evenly sprinkle this sugar-spice mixture over each crescent roll, pressing it down with your hand so it adheres well to the dough.
  4. Add Apples and Roll: Place one buttered apple slice at the wide end of each crescent roll. Carefully roll up each crescent roll as per usual crescent roll folding methods, enclosing the apple inside.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Arrange the rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush any remaining melted butter from the apple bowl over the tops of the rolls, then sprinkle each with cane sugar and a dash of cinnamon for extra sweetness and crunch.
  6. Bake: Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

  • You can substitute brown sugar with coconut sugar for a healthier option.
  • Use vegan butter to make this recipe plant-based.
  • For extra crispiness, sprinkle cane sugar on top before baking.
  • Serve warm for the best taste experience.
