Apple Cider Chai, also known as Chaider, is a warm, comforting beverage that combines the sweet tang of apple cider with the rich, spiced flavors of chai tea concentrate. Perfect for cozy autumn or winter days, this drink can be customized with optional whipped cream and caramel drizzle for an indulgent touch. It’s quick to prepare and offers a delicious alternative to traditional chai or cider drinks.

Ingredients

Liquid Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 3/4 cup chai tea concentrate

Optional Toppings and Spices

  • Whipped cream, to serve (optional)
  • Caramel drizzle, to serve (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon, to serve (optional)

Optional Whole Spices for Steeping

  • Cinnamon sticks (optional)
  • Whole cloves (optional)
  • Star anise (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine liquids: Pour the apple cider and chai tea concentrate into a small saucepan.
  2. Heat mixture: Warm the combination over medium heat, stirring occasionally to blend the flavors.
  3. Add spices (optional): For extra chai spiciness, add whole spices such as cinnamon sticks, cloves, or star anise to the saucepan. Steep the mixture with the whole spices for at least 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  4. Strain and serve: Remove the whole spices by straining the chai cider mixture into a mug once it has reached your preferred sipping temperature.
  5. Add toppings: Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon as desired to enhance the flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Steeping with whole spices is optional but adds depth to the chai flavor.
  • Adjust the ratio of apple cider to chai concentrate depending on sweetness preference.
  • Whipped cream and caramel drizzle are optional but provide a richer, dessert-like experience.
  • This recipe serves one but can be easily scaled up for multiple servings.
