These Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are a quick, easy, and delicious snack or appetizer perfect for any pizza lover. Using whole wheat tortillas packed with mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and Italian herbs, these crispy pizza rolls cook to perfection in just minutes using the air fryer, making them a healthier, convenient alternative to traditional fried snacks.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 24 whole wheat tortillas (Each tortilla makes 4 pizza rolls; flour tortillas can also be used.)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Warm Tortillas: Place the whole wheat tortillas on a microwave-safe plate and microwave each for 20 to 30 seconds until pliable and easier to roll.
  2. Spread Sauce: Lay each warmed tortilla flat on a surface, and use a spoon to evenly spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the entire surface.
  3. Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the marinara sauce layer to ensure every bite is cheesy.
  4. Season: Evenly sprinkle dried oregano, basil, and garlic powder over the cheese to infuse classic Italian flavors.
  5. Roll Sides Inward: Fold the left and right sides of the tortilla inward towards the center to enclose the filling.
  6. Roll the Tortilla: Starting from the top, roll the tortilla downward, then roll up from the bottom to form a neatly enclosed roll ready for frying.
  7. Air Fry: Place the rolled tortillas seam side down in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (204°C) for 6 minutes, or until the pizza rolls are crispy and golden.
  8. Slice and Serve: Remove from the air fryer and carefully slice each rolled tortilla into 4 even pieces. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Whole wheat tortillas add fiber, but you may substitute with flour tortillas for a softer texture.
  • For extra flavor, add pepperoni, cooked sausage, or vegetables inside before rolling.
  • Microwaving the tortillas makes rolling easier and prevents cracking during air frying.
  • Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model; check for crispiness and adjust time as needed.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture, as pizza rolls can become softer if left standing too long.
