Air fryer pineapple is a quick and easy to make grilled pineapple recipe made using an air fryer instead of a grill. Caramelized pineapples are made with fresh pineapple coated in brown sugar and cinnamon, air fried to golden perfection. Serve as is or with cold vanilla ice cream for a wonderfully healthy pineapple dessert.

Ingredients

Fresh Pineapple:

1 pineapple cut into cubes, spears or rings (about 4 cups of cut pineapple)

Light Brown Sugar Mixture:

2 – 4 tablespoons (25 – 50 g) light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut Pineapple: Slice, core and cut the fresh pineapple into slices, spears, chunks or rings.
  3. Coat Pineapple: Toss the pineapple into a bowl with light brown sugar and ground cinnamon until fully coated.
  4. Air Fry: Lightly spray the air fryer tray, then fry the pineapple for 6 – 8 minutes. Flip the pieces and fry for another 6 – 8 minutes.
  5. Caramelize: Air fry the pineapple for 12 – 16 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Serve: Cool slightly and serve alone or with ice cream, whipped cream, or pancakes.

Notes

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 – 5 days.
  • Pineapple Rings and Spears fry for different times; canned pineapple needs less time.
