Instructions

  1. Prepare Puff Pastry: Allow the sheet of puff pastry to come to room temperature for about 15 minutes to make it easier to unfold and cut.
  2. Unfold Pastry: Gently unfold the puff pastry sheet on a clean surface without tearing.
  3. Cut Strips: Cut 2 horizontal strips along the natural creases of the pastry sheet.
  4. Cut Vertical Strips: Cut 3 vertical strips perpendicular to the horizontal ones, resulting in 9 equal squares.
  5. Arrange for Air Frying: Place 4 squares on the air fryer crisper tray or as many as you can fit comfortably in the basket without overlapping.
  6. Air Fry Beignets: Air fry the puff pastry squares at 400°F (204°C) for 9 minutes until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Repeat Cooking: Repeat the air frying process with the remaining squares until all are cooked.
  8. Coat in Powdered Sugar: Place the 3 cups of powdered sugar into a large zip-top bag. Add the warm beignets to the bag and shake gently until they are completely coated with powdered sugar.
