A quick and healthy recipe for cinnamon-spiced, caramelized apples cooked in an air fryer, perfect as a snack, dessert, or breakfast topping.

Ingredients

2 large apples (such as Braeburn, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Gala, Golden Delicious, Pink Lady, or Fuji)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp pure maple syrup or sweetener of choice

2 tsp oil or butter (optional, omit for fat-free version)

Instructions

  1. Grease the air fryer tray or line it with air fryer liners. Peel the apples if desired, then chop them into small squares, sticks, or thin slices. Discard the cores and seeds.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the diced apples with cinnamon, maple syrup (or your chosen sweetener), and melted butter or oil if using.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Arrange the apples in a single layer on the prepared tray. Cook for 7 minutes, then shake the tray to turn the apples.
  5. Continue cooking for an additional 8 minutes, or until the apples reach your desired level of crispness.

Notes

  • For a sugar-free version, use erythritol, xylitol, stevia, or monk fruit sweetener.
  • Add fall spices like ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom, or cloves for extra flavor.
  • Slice apples thinner to make apple chips or cut into sticks for a dippable snack.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes to restore crispness.
  • Peeling apples is optional; leaving the skin on retains fiber and nutrients.
