These 4 Ingredient Banana Oatmeal Cookies are a quick, healthy, and easy treat made with just ripe bananas, oats, natural peanut butter, and mini chocolate chips. Perfect for a wholesome snack or dessert that requires minimal ingredients and effort, they are naturally sweetened and baked to golden perfection in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe, brown banana
  • ¾ cup rolled oats (72g) or quick oats
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter (64g) or nut butter of choice
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips (60g), semi-sweet or regular chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350℉ (176°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mash Banana: In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly mash the ripe banana until it reaches a smooth consistency, forming the base of the cookie dough.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, natural peanut butter, and mini chocolate chips to the mashed banana. Stir well until all the ingredients are evenly combined into a uniform batter.
  4. Form Cookies: Using about 2 tablespoons of the batter at a time, scoop and roll the dough into balls with your hands. Arrange each ball spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Shape Cookies: Press down each dough ball into the desired cookie thickness and shape, as these cookies will not spread while baking.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until they turn golden brown around the edges.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • These cookies do not spread during baking, so press them to your preferred thickness before baking.
  • Use a cookie scoop to make uniform-sized cookies for even baking; a 2 tablespoon scoop works well.
  • You can substitute natural peanut butter with any nut butter of your choice.
  • For a vegan version, ensure chocolate chips are dairy-free.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
