Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 15 ripe strawberries

Matcha Chocolate Coating

  • 9 oz white vegan chocolate
  • 1.5 tsp matcha powder

Instructions

  1. Clean the Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly in lukewarm water, scrubbing off any dirt or debris to ensure they are clean and ready for dipping.
  2. Dry Completely: Dry the strawberries completely by gently tapping them with a paper towel or letting them air dry. This step is crucial to ensure the chocolate coating adheres properly.
  3. Melt the White Chocolate: Melt the white vegan chocolate in a non-stick pan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. If the chocolate isn’t melting easily, add a teaspoon of coconut oil or light olive oil to facilitate melting.
  4. Add Matcha Powder: Sift in the matcha powder into the melted chocolate to avoid clumps and stir until fully combined. Remove the mixture from the heat to prevent it from overheating.
  5. Dip the Strawberries: Pour the matcha-infused melted chocolate into a heatproof glass or mug. Quickly dip each strawberry into the chocolate, letting the excess drip off to form an even coating.
  6. Place on Baking Sheet: Place each dipped strawberry onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, allowing the chocolate to begin setting.
  7. Drizzle Additional Matcha Chocolate: Once the initial chocolate coating has hardened slightly, drizzle more matcha chocolate on top using a teaspoon to add texture and an extra decorative touch.
  8. Chill to Set: Let the strawberries set in a cool place, such as the fridge, or at room temperature if it is below 68°F (20°C), for a few more minutes until fully hardened and ready to serve.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to allow chocolate to stick properly.
  • If white vegan chocolate is not melting smoothly, adding a teaspoon of coconut or light olive oil helps achieve the right consistency.
  • Serve immediately after chilling for best texture and flavor.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
  • For a more intense matcha flavor, adjust the matcha quantity slightly but avoid making the coating too bitter.
