These 3-Ingredient Crescent Sausage Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack perfect for parties, breakfast, brunch, or dinner. With a savory blend of browned hot sausage and creamy melted cream cheese wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, they bake up golden and irresistible in just 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Meat and Dairy

  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese

Dough

  • 2 packages crescent rolls

Seasonings

  • Dash salt
  • Ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the Sausage: In a sauté pan over medium heat, cook the hot sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease. Add a dash of salt and ground black pepper to taste, then blend in the cream cheese. Stir continuously until the cream cheese is completely melted and combined with the sausage, creating a creamy mixture.
  2. Prepare Bottom Layer of Crescent Dough: Unroll one package of crescent rolls and spread it out on a lightly greased baking sheet. Using your fingers, gently press the seams together to seal the dough into one solid sheet. This prevents the filling from leaking out during baking.
  3. Add Sausage Mixture: Evenly spread the warm sausage and cream cheese mixture over the bottom layer of crescent roll dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around the edges free of filling to aid in sealing.
  4. Top with Second Dough Layer: Unroll the second package of crescent rolls and carefully place it on top of the sausage mixture. Gently press the edges of the top and bottom dough layers together to seal, and also press along the seams to ensure the dough is well combined and sealed.
  5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the assembled crescent sausage bites for about 15-20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked through.
  6. Cut and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Use a pizza cutter to slice into small squares or bite-sized pieces. Serve warm as a tasty party appetizer or as part of a hearty breakfast or brunch.
  7. Enjoy: These Crescent Sausage Bites pair wonderfully with fresh fruit or standalone as a satisfying meal or snack.
  8. Tips: Hot or mild sausage can be used depending on your preference. Note that salt and pepper are not counted as one of the main ingredients.
