This Sheet Pan Pizza recipe offers a quick and easy way to enjoy homemade pizza with minimal effort. Using store-bought dough and sauce speeds up the process, creating a delicious and satisfying meal ready in just 35 minutes. It’s perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 3/4 pounds ground sweet or mild Italian sausage

Dough & Base

  • 16 ounces pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal for the pan
  • 1 cup pizza sauce

Cheese

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Other

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the pizza evenly.
  2. Cook Sausage: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Prepare Pan: Grease a 13×9-inch sheet pan with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle an even layer of cornmeal over the pan to prevent the dough from sticking.
  4. Roll Out Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough and gently stretch it to fit the sheet pan. If it resists stretching, allow it to rest for 5 minutes before trying again.
  5. Assemble Pizza: Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer the cooked sausage evenly on top. Finish with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake: Place the sheet pan in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden and the crust is fully cooked.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy your delicious sheet pan pizza!

Notes

  • Store leftover sheet pan pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Use store-bought dough and sauce to save time without sacrificing flavor.
  • You can substitute Italian sausage with other toppings like pepperoni or vegetables for variation.
  • Letting the dough rest if it’s difficult to stretch helps prevent it from snapping back.
