  • 6 to 8 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and bittersweet baking chocolate: In a saucepan, melt butter and bittersweet baking chocolate over medium-low heat, stirring frequently.
  2. Combine ingredients: Slowly whisk in evaporated milk until combined. Add sugar, cocoa powder, and salt, whisking until smooth.
  3. Simmer: Keep over medium-low heat, whisking, until mixture boils. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
  4. Finish the sauce: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
