These gluten-free sweet potato fries are a healthy, delicious alternative to regular fries. Baked to crispy perfection with a simple blend of olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, they make a perfect snack or side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Sweet Potatoes

  • 3 medium sweet potatoes

Seasoning & Oil

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Potatoes: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Using a sharp knife, cut them into fries approximately ¼ inch thick. Place cut fries into a large bowl.
  2. Mix Seasoning: In a separate bowl, combine the olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir thoroughly to create the seasoning mixture.
  3. Coat Fries: Pour the seasoning mixture over the sweet potato fries and toss well to ensure each fry is evenly coated with the oil and spices.
  4. Bake the Fries: Arrange the fries in a single layer on a large baking sheet, avoiding stacking. If necessary, use two baking sheets to prevent overcrowding. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove fries from the oven and allow them to cool slightly to develop crispiness. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Cut fries evenly to ensure uniform cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet to avoid soggy fries.
  • Flip fries halfway to achieve even crispiness and browning.
  • For extra crispiness, consider patting fries dry before tossing with oil.
  • These fries can be seasoned with additional spices like paprika or cayenne for a spicy twist.
