This Garlic Butter Steak with Parmesan Cream Sauce is a rich and flavorful dish featuring perfectly seared ribeye steaks cooked in garlic butter and topped with a luscious parmesan cream sauce. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s an impressive yet easy meal ideal for steak lovers looking for a creamy, savory twist.

Ingredients

Steak

  • 4 pieces ribeye steaks (About 1-inch thick, 8 oz each)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Parmesan Cream Sauce

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Steaks: Evenly season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavors.
  2. Heat the Skillet: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter, allowing it to melt and bubble.
  3. Cook First Side of Steaks: Add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes without moving them to develop a nice crust.
  4. Flip Steaks and Add Garlic Butter: Turn the steaks over using tongs, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the skillet, and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness while spooning the butter and garlic over the steaks.
  5. Rest the Steaks: Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes to retain juices.
  6. Prepare Parmesan Cream Sauce: Reduce skillet heat to medium and add heavy cream, whisking continuously and scraping up browned bits from the bottom for extra flavor.
  7. Add Parmesan Cheese: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and whisk for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens to a creamy consistency.
  8. Season the Sauce: Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed to balance the flavors.
  9. Serve: Slice the steaks, plate them, drizzle the Parmesan cream sauce over the top, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a finishing touch.

Notes

  • Use a cast-iron or heavy-bottom skillet for the best sear on the steaks.
  • Adjust cooking time for steaks depending on preferred doneness: less time for rare, more for medium-well.
  • Letting the steaks rest is crucial to keep them juicy and tender.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better and provides richer flavor than pre-grated.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
