This super easy Lemon Chicken Piccata Recipe is ready in about 30 minutes and perfect over fresh pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes. A delicious and flavorful dish that combines tender chicken with a tangy lemon caper sauce.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb. chicken breasts, cut in half horizontally and pounded thin
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning or fresh lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp butter, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, divided

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp capers, brined and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp parsley, freshly chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with lemon pepper seasoning and salt, then coat in flour.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Cook chicken in a skillet with butter and oil until golden brown on both sides, then set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, make a sauce with garlic, flour, chicken stock, white wine, lemon juice, and capers.
  4. Combine and Serve: Add chicken back to the skillet, simmer in the sauce, then garnish with parsley and lemon wedges. Serve over pasta.
