Crispy Bubble Potato is a delightful, baked mashed potato treat shaped into small bubbles and baked until golden and crispy on the outside while remaining creamy inside. This recipe is perfect as a side dish or appetizer, combining simple ingredients like potatoes, butter, salt, and black pepper into an eye-catching and flavorful dish.

Ingredients

Potato Mixture

  • 1¼ cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • ½ to teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 347°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the potato bubbles.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into small cubes. Boil the potato cubes in a pot of water until they become tender, testing occasionally with a fork.
  3. Mash the Potatoes: Once boiled, drain and mash the potatoes until smooth. For an extra creamy texture, you may pass the mashed potatoes through a sieve.
  4. Mix Ingredients: Add the salted butter, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes, stirring thoroughly to combine all the flavors evenly.
  5. Pipe the Potato Bubbles: Fill a piping bag with the mashed potato mixture. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pipe the mixture into small, round shapes resembling bubbles.
  6. Bake the Potato Bubbles: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the potato bubbles for 45 minutes at 347°F until golden and crispy on the outside.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the oven and serve your crispy baked mashed potato bubbles warm as a delicious snack or side dish.

Notes

  • For creamier mashed potatoes, pass them through a fine sieve for a smoother texture.
  • You can adjust the salt and pepper to taste before piping.
  • Use a piping bag with a round tip to create evenly sized potato bubbles.
  • Serve these crispy potato bubbles with dips like sour cream or garlic aioli for extra flavor.
  • Leftover potato bubbles can be refrigerated in an airtight container and reheated in the oven for best results.
