Ingredients
Cookie Dough:
¾ cups white sugar
¾ cups brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, or chunks
Instructions
Blend the Wet Ingredients: In a bowl, blend together the white sugar, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add the egg and blend until combined.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add Chocolate Chips: Mix the chocolate chips into the cookie dough until evenly combined.
Chill Dough: Scoop the dough into balls and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.
Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F. Place dough balls on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on a wire rack.
Notes
Store baked cookies in an airtight container on the counter.
Unbaked cookie dough can be stored in the fridge for up to 7 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
